OUR BLESSED MOTHER’S SODALITY of Holy Name Parish will meet for our next general meeting on Monday evening, November 4, at 7 p.m. in Halligan Hall. This year, the recipient of our Sodality’s Thanksgiving collection will be HOPE Community Services, which feeds the hungriest among us year-‘round at their food pantry and soup kitchen, so we ask our Sodalists to bring a generous donation for HOPE (in cash or by check made out to “HOPE Community Services”) to this meeting. The funds will be hand-delivered to HOPE by the end of the week. Our November meeting will begin with an All Souls commemorative prayer service remembering our dear loved ones who have passed away. After this ceremony, we will have something new: a share session of our Sodalists taking turns displaying a personal religious artifact—statue, Rosary, crucifix, holy card, candle, etc.—that has special significance to them and sharing its beloved (hi)story with the rest of the group. Next will follow our utensil-wrapping project for the HOPE soup kitchen, followed by coffee, cake, and conversation. All in attendance will go home with a free copy of The Little Blue Book: Advent and Christmas Seasons 2024- 2025, a collection of down-to-earth reflections for each day of the upcoming Advent and Christmas seasons. We thank Deacon Bob & Louise Gontcharuk for this generous and inspirational gift. As always, all women of the parish are welcome to join us at this meeting. ************************************* MEALS ON WHEELS Meals on Wheels of New Rochelle needs more volunteer drivers to deliver hot meals to our frail homebound senior neighbors who have no way of getting nourishing daily meals without us. Meals are delivered 7 days a week at 11:00AM. Pick a day and help a neighbor! It’s more than a meal. It’s a lifetime of friendship; a listening ear; a warm smile; a familiar voice; a comforting touch.
